Its mission is to foster the role of culture both from a theoretical perspective – through research, strategy design, knowledge transfer- as well as from a concrete and practical approach – through local and international cooperation, project coordination and management.

In its different fields of activity, Interarts encourages synergies to the advantage of the quality of results:

    • Applied research, in a transversal perspective, knowledge output on cultural policies
    • Cultural cooperation, local and international coordination of projects in which culture is a key factor towards development
    • Knowledge transfer, dissemination not only of the results of its work but also of up-to-date information on trends and events relevant to the cultural sector
    • Assessment, on the basis of the experience built up in over ten years of leading activity, support in the design and implementation of public and private enterprises

Thanks to its pioneering activity in many diverse areas and to its consolidated group of international experts, Interarts can make unique content contributions on cultural rights, cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, the creative industries and innovation fields such as the role of culture in local development policies and the economic impact of the cultural and creative sectors. Acknowledged as a referent by official institutions, Interarts is an active and efficient link between different cultural agents: civil society, private companies, academia and public administration. From its central office in Barcelona, Interarts works, through a network of solid alliances with local agents, in different geographic areas, mainly in Europe, the Americas and Africa.
